Dead fish in a hole, one of many holes filled with dead fish dug along the 716-km-long Fen River (汾河) or Mother River (母亲河), is the second branch of the Yellow River in Taiyuan, Shanxi, China, across from the Chateau Star River Taiyuan Apartments, condos, and hotels. Many rivers throughout China are toxic, caused by the rapid development of the country over the past three decades.
