A wedding party cross the street during smoke and haze caused by wildfires in Canada, in New York City on June 07, 2023. Beginning in March 2023, Canada was affected by a series of record-setting wildfires. All 13 provinces and territories were affected, with the 2023 wildfire season seeing the most area burned in recorded North American history. Toxic smoke from the wildfires in Canada drifted over New York and other states, engulfing cities in an orange haze.
